For those of you who follow my store you may have notice lots of resources have been added to help littles learn how to start writing sentences. There are hands-on activities that range from tracing complete sentences to adding in the capital letters and full stops to unjumbling words and creating meaningful sentences. You will also find individual student resources to use within each writing session such as a finger spacing tool (so that all their sentences don’t look like a blur of words!) and a basic self-editing pencil.
These Basic Self-Editing Pencils are a freebie and worth having in your space to help promote student independence. If implemented into your daily routine kids will start remembering to include key sentence features such as:
- capital letters
- full stops
- spaces between words
and this repetition will hopefully form a daily habit.
If you would like to grab this FREEBIE you can download it here.
You might also like to check out the Sentence Pack which has over 200 pages of hands-on activities, resources and printables to help kids start to write sentences.
