I remember moving from the littlies (4 to 5 year olds) to the big kids and was devastated to think that they probably thought coloring in was ‘uncool’. Boy was I wrong. We spent 15 minutes after every lunch doing mindfulness coloring and more often then not, both boys and girls, would ask if we could have more time doing it. I found Pinterest to be the best tool for sourcing coloring pages.
As an end of year activity, I bought the mega OMY coloring page and we spent the last 4 weeks coloring it in as a group. We would put on our favourite music or sit and chat about how our lunch times went. It became such a relaxing way to wind down the day.
